| From Michael Babcock, “Susan loved to work in the circular format and in the early 1970s there were some shows with more circular pieces than not. She said “The circle is very nice to work in, because everything flows... It gave the boundaries in which I liked to work.”
In the early 1970s, as she began her career, she credits the birth of her son, Eric, with freeing the child in her. She told him fairytales and stories and painted numerous pieces with fairies. Here a fairy queen dances through a grove of enchanted trees in front of an ink-textured purple sky just beyond."
Wearing a gossamer gown adorned with stars and holding two glowing orbs to light her way, she appears to be floating through her starlit forest realm. Luminous moss appears in the upper branches of the trees.
This original work has been re-framed with an antiqued and gilt custom wood frame. Triple-matted with a linen top mat. Acid-free materials throughout and re-glazed with Museum conservation, Tru-Vue, UV protective glass. Signed by Susan Seddon-Boulet bottom-right. Undated.
