A magnificent early work filled with lush color and intriguing Egyptian imagery. Within the womb-like depiction of the art, this piece sensitively portrays one of the ancient worlds great myths. A child sleeps peacefully in the bloom of a Lotus flower while being enfolded by the protective wings of a hawk. A golden Ankh and the symbol for the goddess Maat, adorn the hawks head. Horus, represented by the hawk, was the god of the Sky, and protector of the ruling king. Above the child a brilliant fiery Sun and a cool starry night sky form the backdrop to a droplet of water in which a huddled figure sits. A fish swims among the Lotus leaves in the cool water below. Richly colored and equally rich in story.

The original work has been previously re-framed with an antiqued gilt wood frame, archival double-matted with a suede top mat, acid-free backerboard & materials, and re-glazed with conservation clear UV protective glass. Signed by Susan Seddon Boulet bottom right. Dated 1977.
