We request anyone wishing to make an offer read all of the information below. We understand that these paragraphs of terms and conditions can be dry and boring, but we would like to insure those making offers completely understand the process by which we have sold Susan's art online since 2000. A good understanding of the process will eliminate any potential misunderstandings.Thank you.
A Background On The Pieces (2018)
Turning Point has been the principal gallery representing and selling original works by Susan Seddon Boulet since 1992. We continue to work diligently and cooperatively with her family, friends and estate to further enhance and honor Susan's legacy. This is Turning Point's 23rd annual sale of original work by Susan Seddon Boulet and the 18th held worldwide on the internet.
The original works in this sale come from collections in the U.S.
All of the pieces have been re-matted using acid-free mats and or fillets, separators and backings; all of the glass has been replaced with conservation clear or Museum Tru-Vue UV protective glass. All of the work has been re-framed as noted.
Some of the works shown have the notation "- untitled" after the title given. The reason... much of Susan's early work (1970 - 1980) was untitled by the artist. As a way to facilitate identification and historical records on the many individual untitled works, we, after careful thought, have given each untitled piece a title followed by the notation "-untitled". Those pieces without this notation were titled by Susan.
To Make an Offer on These Originals
Please Note a 15% Buyers Premium has been continued in this years sale. A Buyers Premium is standard in the auction world and is a percentage added to your offer. Please consider this when placing your offer. The site will help you to calculate your offer including the buyers premium prior to you actually placing your offer.
These original works will be for sale on the internet during the month of May 2018. The work will also be available for viewing during that same time period, in person.
Offers must be made by clicking on the "I agree to the Terms" tab at the bottom of this page . Clicking on that tab will take you to the "Make an offer Page" where you can place you bid/offer.
Offers are to be in US dollars equal to or above the Opening Offer Price, and should be in increments of fifty dollars. Ie. $1,000. - $1,050. - $1,100. - $1,150. etc.
You will need to create and remember a 7 to 10 letter and or number user code when placing an offer. Please fill in the online offer sheet completely; so that we can maintain clear communication with those of you making offers. Incomplete, un-verifiable offers will be voided. The high offer will be posted immediately along with the encoded User Name of the person making that offer. In the event of duplicate offers; the first offer received will take precedence. At the request of many... Turning Point Gallery has instituted a proxy offer system; in which we will automatically increase your offer incrementally, on your behalf, up to your maximum offer, which will be held absolutely confidential. ie. If you choose to offer $2,000. on a piece that has a current high offer of $1,000. your actual offer will only be $1,050 plus the 15% buyers premium. The computer will increase your offer automatically by $50., when other offers are received, up to your maximum offer. You will never pay more than $50. over the next highest offer below yours. Remember the buyers premium will be added to your offer.
Closing The Offer Period
At pre-determined but undisclosed times during the first seven days of June 2018, offers will no longer be considered, and the pieces will be sold to the individuals holding the current high offer. (each piece has a different, randomly selected ending time). This unique procedure has been created to:
1.) give buyers, world-wide, an opportunity to purchase original work - (historically we have sold out all set price sales of Susan's work to local collectors within hours of the show being hung) 2.) because the exact ending moment is not known to bidders, it helps to prevent last second offers, ("sniping") and 3.) It helps to create an atmosphere that we believe is more respectful to the wishes and legacy of the artist - and to the buyers that support Susan's art.If you have any questions about this process or any other needs, please do not hesitate to contact Chris or Cara at Turning Point Gallery - 610 566-9474 or by email at email@example.com
In order to simplify and facilitate U.S. and international shipping we have researched and found a local shipper that is highly qualified in packing & shipping important artworks. They work with the Philadelphia Art Museum, National Liberty Museum and numerous Philadelphia Auction Houses to handle their shipping needs.

Turning Point Gallery will act as a liaison to deliver the works and stay in contact with Navis to assure that our clients get the best rates and smooth handling of the process. Another important factor in choosing Navis is they are able to insure the works to full value.
You may want to check your homeowners insurance to see if art purchases are covered in shipment up to their full value, if not, you may want to add that inexpensive rider to your policy, in order to save insurance costs (approx. 3% of declared value) through the shipper.
We are also exploring the process of shipping via US registered mail, which will prolong the shipping time but save substantially on the insurance costs. There are some size constraints, but we can discuss that process if your bid prevails.
The terms and conditions of sale represent the entire agreement between Turning Point Gallery and the buyer with respect to the property in this sale. By tendering an offer you agree to be legally bound by these terms and conditions.
